Originally known as Hermanuspietersfontein, the quaint seaside village of Hermanus annually hosts the wildly popular Whale Festival. Southern Right whales migrate to the temperate waters of Walker Bay each June through December to mate, allowing visitors to view them cavorting from a boat, airplane and the shore.
