Day 1 of the tour (Wednesday)

Departing Rovos Rail’s private station in Capital Park, Pretoria we have a relaxing first day as we trundle through the Lowveld towards Waterval Onder. You will enjoy your first night of fantastic dining this evening.

Day 2 of the tour (Thursday)
This morning we get to enjoy our first round of golf on the Hans Merensky Golf Course which borders on the Kruger National Park. Don’t be surprised if you come across wild game on the fairways as this course borders the Kruger National Park. The water hazards are ‘just that’ with hippo and crocodiles aplenty. Non-golfers enjoy a game drive in the Kruger National Park followed by lunch. Later this afternoon the train sets off again as it makes its way for Swaziland.

Day 3 of the tour (Friday)
Another round of golf this morning, this time it is in another country. You will play at the Royal Swazi Golf Club near Manzini in the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Swaziland. Non-golfers will visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory followed by lunch at Malandelas and then have an afternoon game drive in the Mkhaya Game Reserve.

Day 4 of the tour (Saturday)
There is no golf today. We all get to experience an early morning game drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. After the game drive we board the train and then make our way on towards Durban. Dinner will be had in a restaurant in Durban this evening.

Day 5 of the tour (Sunday)
Tee off this morning at the lovely Durban Beachwood Country Club. Non-golfers enjoy a Durban City Tour followed by lunch at the Durban Beachwood Country Club with the golfers.

Day 6 of the tour (Monday)
The awesome Drakensberg Mountain Range will be your backdrop today as you enjoy a challenging round of golf at the Champagne Sports Resort. Non-golfers have two options today. You can either enjoy the day walking in the Mountains and taking in all the beauty or you can join a professional tour of the Battlefields where you will also have some time to do shopping before joining up with the golfers again on the train.

Day 7 of the tour (Tuesday)
Today is a non-golfing day with no excursions. It is a lazy day on the train to relax. We depart Ladysmith this morning and then trundle our way through some breathtaking countryside.

Day 8 of the tour (Wednesday)
This morning we tee-off on either the well known Gary Player Country Club or the Lost City Golf Course, at the Sun City Resort. Non-golfers get to explore all that the resort has to offer for the day. We all meet for a group lunch in the clubhouse. We all enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Pilanesberg National Park where we are on the lookout for wild animals.

Day 9 of the tour (Thursday)
This morning we unfortunately end our journey back at 10:00 at the private Capital Park Station in Pretoria belonging to Rovos Rail. We say our farewells and hope you have had a sensational trip on the world’s most luxurious train.

What our guests have to say...

I want to thank you very much for a fantastic trip. Our safari in the Pilanesberg National Park was amazing and we saw many animals including four of the 'Big 5' - with only the leopard escaping us. Our stay in Cape Town was also great - Cape Town is such a beautiful city! Thanks again for the good organization, everything went very smoothly.
