A superb and scenic tour that takes in all that the Garden Route has to offer. We get to visit the “Ostrich Capital of the world” in Oudtshoorn before taking walks in the Tsitsikamma National Park and a sundowner cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Our last day sees us complete the tour with a scenic drive back to Cape Town.

Day 1 of the tour
We depart Cape Town this morning for a scenic drive along the R62 route to the town of Oudtshoorn. Oudtshoorn is known as the Ostrich ‘Capital of the world’ and is situated in the Klein Karoo semi desert region. We spend the afternoon visiting the Cango Caves which were once inhabited by men from the Stone Age. We do a guided tour of the caves where we learn about the history of the caves as well as view their amazing formations. Our next stop is an Ostrich Farm where we will have the opportunity to learn about them as well as feed them and maybe even get the chance to ride them. This evening we will relax in one of the most tranquil places in South Africa. A choice for dinner must surely be to try an ostrich steak.

Day 2 of the tour
Departing Oudtshoorn this morning we make our way on into the heart of the Garden Route to the Tsitsikamma National Park where we visit the ‘Big Tree’ and you will have leisure time to walk in the forest and just enjoy the amazing nature. There are many optional adventure activities on offer in the area which you are welcome to take part in. Tonight you have an evening of leisure.

Day 3 of the tour
We will have an easy start to the day as we drive to the small quaint town of Knysna. You will be free to explore for the rest of the day. This is a great town to do your shopping for African curios. Late afternoon we get together and are treated to a spectacular sundowner cruise on the Knysna estuary. This evening you will be at leisure to enjoy a superb dinner at one of the many fantastic restaurants in town. Seafood is a must while dining out in Knysna.

Day 4 of the tour
This morning we enjoy an exclusive tour of the Featherbed Private Nature Reserve situated at the Knysna Heads, including a 2,5 km guided scenic walk and a superb lunch. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be at leisure in Knysna.

Day 5 of the tour
Our final morning sees us depart Knysna after breakfast and drive to the town of Mossel Bay. A visit to the Diaz Maritime Museum and the old Post Office Tree are definitely the highlights. Our drive on to Cape Town will have us bypass the towns of Swellendam and Caledon before going over Sir Lowry’s Pass where you will enjoy fantastic views. On arrival in Cape Town we will either drop you at Cape Town International Airport or take you to the accommodation of your choice in the Cape Town area.
