About the Lodge:
Kambaku Safari Lodge is positioned in the heart of the Timbavati Game Reserve which in turn is situated along the border of the world renowned Kruger National Park. The situation of the lodge is in an unspoilt wilderness area which is home to a wide variety of animals including the 'Big 5' and perfect for Kruger Park Tours.

Kambaku provides the ultimate escape from busy schedules and combines simple luxury with a high level of environmental consciousness. With fantastic bush cuisine in a relaxed, rustic setting guests can truly unwind and enjoy being at one with nature.

Accommodation:
The accommodation at Kambaku is in eight thatched chalets with full en-suite facilities and situated in a semi-circle that overlooks a private waterhole. The lodge provides exclusive yet affordable accommodation that is designed, constructed and decorated to reflect gracious charm and serenity of its surroundings. To satisfy specific requirements, the rooms offer a combination of family suites, doubles and twin rooms.

Creating a feeling of relaxed intimacy the lodge accommodates only 16 guests and is ideal for hosting small family gatherings. The romance of the bush makes Kambaku Lodge an ideal romantic honeymoon retreat. To truly immerse yourself in the rustic bush experience, the chalets are equipped with lanterns for lights as well as 220 volt power sockets for your convenience, which is sustained by an eco-friendly battery bank system. Overhead fans provide welcome relief during summer and gas geysers provide instant steaming hot water. For those who enjoy a taste of romantic colonialism the rooms are equipped with four poster beds, crisp white linen and draped mosquito nets.

Activities and Facilities:
Game viewing activities include sunrise and sunset game drives on 4x4 open safari vehicles as well as an optional morning bush walk after breakfast each day. Being in a 'Big 5' reserve the opportunity to see a wide variety of wild game, big and small is excellent.

Kambaku invites you to relax and take in the tranquil bush surroundings in a variety of comfortable central areas that are there for your enjoyment. The main lodge has open plan and private spaces with a bar and lounge area leading to the private mezzanine floor. Opening out from the mezzanine is a viewing deck with excellent views of the busy waterhole and beyond.

The main lodge also has a high thatched roof which is designed to catch the breeze in summer and create a lovely feeling of openness. A large fireplace in the lounge area adds to the warmth and ambience in the winter evenings. Furnishings are comfortable and cosy.

Breakfasts and light lunches are served on the veranda and guests are normally entertained by the Warthog family and general game that normally come down to the waterhole to quench their thirst. Dinner is an African affair, accompanied by the Milky Way, a large bonfire and lanterns in the Boma, which is an African name for "Eating Place". Sample fine wines and bush cuisine whilst listening to the night calls of the African bush. After dinner, some fireside bush stories may be spoken by the rangers before you retire to your chalet for the night.

Another great place to watch the hours pass by is on the sundeck by the pool. Have a dip in the pool and relax with a cocktail.

The curio shop is stocked with a variety of goods to remind you of your African Safari and visit to Kambaku Safari Lodge. The shop can be browsed at any time of the day.

At Kambaku there is also wirless connectivity and mobile phone coverage available for this who want to keep in touch with the outside world.

What our guests have to say...

The Kruger Park was our last destination on our nine month trip around the world. We couldn't have hoped for a better end to our trip. The tour was perfectly organized with a lot of unforgettable moments. Although we had been longing for months to go home and finally see our family and friends again, we really didn't want to end our stay at the wonderful Kwa-Madwala Game Reserve. Thank you so much for the greatest tour!
