Day 1 of the tour

We depart Windhoek in a northerly direction and travel to the Otavi Mountain Range, where our historical guest farm is situated. The rest of the day is spent at leisure. Relax along the pool in the large garden or take a scenic walk along one of the walking paths. At a frequented waterhole next to the guest farm you have the opportunity to observe some of the animals inhabiting the area. (approximately 420km travel).

Overnight:     Ghaub Guest Farm/ Ohange Lodge - Otavi Mountains (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 2 of the tour
After breakfast we travel north towards Namibia’s lush Caprivi Region. En route we stop at Hoba Meteorite, the world’s largest known meteorite that came crashing down in Namibia some 80’000 years ago. We travel through the Kavango area, known for its rich selection of hand-made wooden crafts, to the western border of the Bwabwatwa Game Park. Here our lodge lies secluded in the lush vegetation lining the banks of the mighty Kavango River. An optional activity is a boat cruise on the Kavango River. (approximately 500km travel).

Overnight:     Mahangu Game Lodge - Mahangu Game Park (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)

Day 3 of the tour
In the morning we enjoy a game drive into the Mahango Game Park, home to rare animal species such as puku, lechwe, roan and sable, which in turn attract a large variety of predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and even the highly endangered wild dog. Afterwards we travel east through the Bwabwatwa Game Park, previously known as the Caprivi Game Park. This elongated yet very narrow strip of land forms part of the age-old migration route of a variety of game species moving north from Botswana into Namibia. In the early afternoon we reach our lodge, nestled in the dense vegetation of the park along the Kwando River. Besides being the habitat for a huge variety of antelope, elephant, aquatic wildlife as well as predators, the area is renowned for being Southern Africa’s birding hotspot.  The rest of the day is spent at leisure, optional activities include boat cruises and game drives. (approximately 220km travel).

Overnight:     Namushasha Lodge - Bwabwatwa Game Park (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 4 of the tour
This morning we visit a traditional caprivi village to learn more about the tradition and culture of these subsistence farmers who have upheld their way of life for hundreds of years. Upon returning to our lodge, we enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Relax at the pool or participate in one of the activities offered by the lodge.

Overnight:     Namushasha Lodge - Bwabwatwa Game Park (Bed & Breakfast)

What our guests have to say...

From the planning stages to the drive back to the airport at the end, the whole experience could not have been better. Journey Into Africa is a well-oiled machine. The stay in Johannesburg was pleasureable, Eugene a fabulous guide. The accommodations at both lodges could not have been better and we not only saw the 'Big 5', but got a thrilling adrenalin filled adventure trekking after a few angry Black Rhino. Bravo Shaun, thank you very much, we will recommend your company to everyone.
