ROV02 - 3 Day Pretoria to Victoria Falls Luxury Rail Tour

Your two-night three day train tour adventure begins with the departure from the gracious and private station in Capital Park Pretoria that belongs to Rovos Rail. This special journey departs in the morning and slowly meanders westwards through Mafikeng into Botswana and then north towards Mahalapye, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn just after Gaborone. Once the train has passed through the dry reaches of Botswana we arrive at Plumtree in the late afternoon for border formalities with Zimbabwe. We continue in a north-westerly direction passing Bulawayo heading towards Thompson's Junction and Hwange Game Reserve. Journeys end is the Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

Day 1 of the tour
10:00     The Pride of Africa departs from Rovos Rail’s private Station in Capital Park, Pretoria.
13:00     Lunch is served in the Dining Car en route to Zeerust.
19:30     Dinner is served as the train heads towards Mafikeng.

Day 2 of the tour
07:00     Breakfast is served in the Dining Car/s.
13:00     Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s.
17:00     Border formalities at Plumtree.
19:30     Dinner is served in the Dining Car/s.

Day 3 of the tour
07:00     Breakfast is served in the Dining Car/s.

17:00     Arrive at the Victoria Falls where your Rovos Rail journey ends.

Important Medical Note
In May 2011 the World Heath Organisation (WHO) revised the Yellow Fever vaccination recommendations for Africa. The South African Department of Health has subsequently issued a statement that as of 01 October 2011 all travellers from Zambia going to South Africa, and travellers that have recently visited Zambia, will now require proof of a yellow fever vaccination. Previously, this was not required. All in-transit passengers between the two destinations, irrespective of the time period in transit, will also require proof of yellow fever vaccination.
