About the Lodge:
Leroo La Tau rises majestically above the Boteti River which stretches across the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The park is populated with up to 30 000 zebra and wildebeest which are closely accompanied by predators, offering guests the chance to experience the exhiliration of seeing large concentrations of game and the resultant predator interaction.

With just 12 thatched chalets, each with en-suite bathrooms, a dining room, reading room and bar in the main lodge, expansive wooden decks and plunge pool, guests can immerse themselves seamlessly into the ultimate Botswana safari wildlife experience. Having explored the area and enjoyed a spectacular wildlife phenomenon on guided day and night game drives, guests can retire after dinner to a splendid fireplace overlooking the river.

The lodge offers a raised hide above the river where guests can enjoy the spectacular wildlife sightings that this part of Botswana has become renowned for.

Accommodation:
The lodge features 12 luxurious thatched and glass fronted suites with en-suite bathrooms, each one raised on a wooden platform.

Activities and Facilities:
The main lounge and dining area, with its inviting wooden and thatch finish, offers guests the opportunity to sit back and relax at the bar while listening to the wide variety of night sounds so characteristic of the African bush. Alternatively you can lounge around the swimming pool or enjoy the panoramic river vista from the game viewing hide built into the bank of the river.

Both scheduled guided day and night game drives are on offer depending on the water levels of the Boteti River. Boat activities can also be provided. Optional cultural excursions can also be arranged to visit Khumaga Village, as can guided nature walks in the area surrounding the lodge.

Leroo La Tau translates as "lion's paw", but although the surrounding area features abundant lion, zebra and wildebeest, it also boasts Chobe bushbuck, leopard, cheetah, brown and spotted hyena, impala, kudu, jackal, porcupine, genet and caracal to name but a few. In addition there is also the possibility of seeing the rare white rhino.

Please note that due to the remote location within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, the physical Makgadikgadi Pans are not visited on a daily scheduled activities from Leroo La Tau.

What our guests have to say...

We have just returned from our third holiday organised for us by Journey Into Africa. As always we have been delighted with the immaculate organisation of the trip which this time was quite complex. All the aspects of the trip flowed seamlessly from one to another with all the transfers taking place smoothly. Our stay at the Royal Livingstone was relaxing and a good base to do the activities around Victoria Falls. The game drives at Chobe Botswana, were very productive with our guide ensuring we had good sightings of many different animals. Golf at Fancourt was relaxed and a great place to end our stay in South Africa. We would certainly recommend booking with JIA. Dealing over the internet is no problem and queries are always answered immediately. We would certainly return for a fourth time.
