About the Lodge:
Grassland Safari Lodge (also known as Grassland Bushman Lodge) is situated on the Western side of the Central Kalahari National Park in the Ghanzi district of Botswana and is in a private wildlife reserve of some 15000 hectares.

When visiting the lodge you will be accommodated in one of eight luxurious stylishly designed double chalets as well as have the opportunity to see a wide variety of different animals and bird species on 4WD game drives, on horseback, or gaze out from the patio at the numerous species that come to visit the lodge's own private waterhole.

Memorable moments can also be enjoyed in the company of the area's San Bushman. Learn how they hunt for food, including meat, vegetables and nuts; make medicines; traditional dances and ceremonies; build their homes and even how they play games together.

The lodge also has a predator project on site where you will be able to learn about and get up close and personal to lions, wild dog, leopard and cheetah.

Guests of Grassland Lodge are free to take life at their own pace and soak up the unique atmosphere, but you'll always find that there is something different to do. Because of the lodge's unusual location, many of the activities are either exclusively available at Grassland or will be very different to anywhere else in the world. This is certainly a fantastic Botswana Safari experience that should not be missed!

Accommodation:
You will be accommodated in comfortable double chalets which are well furnished and all have their own en-suite bathrooms, closets and dressing table. Each room has hot water and your laundry can be done daily at no extra cost. The lodge can accommodate up to 16 guests in the chalets and there is a family suite as well.

Activities and Facilities:
There are two beautiful main buildings containing both indoor and outdoor dining rooms. The meals are well prepared and a far cry above the standard that you get at many other safari lodges. Three meals a day are provided as well as snacks, midday tea and dessert, cold drinks, wine and a fully stocked bar for an evening night cap.

The lodge also has a large swimming pool for those soothing swims after a long day of game viewing and cultural activities. Likewise you may also just decide to sit around the bricked fire pit and watch as the animals come in at dusk to drink at the large illuminated water hole - a mere 50 metres away.

Because of the unique location, immense land size, and proper management, you are likely to see more Kalahari game at Grassland Safari Lodge than at any other safari lodge in the area. Big herds of strictly Kalahari animals can be seen on the game drives and you will also experience the famous Kalahari sunset with the silhoutte of herds of eland, gemsbok and blue wildebeest! During night drives you are likely to see nocturnal animals like porcupine, aardvark, brown hyena and much more.

Other activities also include leisurely horse rides within the large concession, with rides lasting anywhere from one hour to three days. At the predator protection project you will learn of the work with lions, wild dogs, leopard and cheetah in the Kalahari's farmlands. See first hand how rogue and orphaned animals are saved from almost certain death, before being moved to more suitable locations, thereby protecting them and conserving the future of their species.
